Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready revealed that their new single, "Sirens" was inspired by Pink Floyd, namely Roger Waters' The Wall Tour.
He said in an interview that he was so inspired by seeing RW's Wall spectacle that he wanted to write a song that sounds like Pink Floyd.
I'd say the influence can definitely be heard, whether it's with the WYWH reminiscent blend of acoustic and electric guitars, or the Gilmour-esque solo by McCready when he puts down the acoustic in favor of a telecaster.
In any case, I'm very impressed with their latest effort. Check out "Sirens" below.
