Tune in weekdays at 9pm for "Get the Led Out" and at 10pm for "In the Pink." Playing everything from your favorite songs, deep cuts, live tracks and everything in between! Plus, I'll give you the stories behind the songs, history of the band and fun facts. It's all things Led Zeppelin at 9pm and Pink Floyd at 10pm!
Ok, we've all heard the legend that Dark Side of the Moon syncs up with Wizard of Oz. The Floyd deny having anything to do with it, dismissing it as a coincidence, but here's what I think...
I remember when I first tried it...I had an old VHS copy of Wizard of Oz, waited for the MGM lion's third roar and fired up DSotM.
Now, I was probably about 15 or so when I did it, but man, I was convinced that it was no coincidence. Dorothy falls off the fence on the last note of "Breathe," the tornado sequence is accompanied by "On the Run," the film goes from black and white to color as "Money" kicks in, and that's just a few of the many "coincidences."
Now the question of whether or not it was planned. First of all, who had the idea to just try syncing them up? Just, out of the blue, somebody decides to try it? Kind of fishy...Plus, there are way too many coincidences to dismiss this as just that, a coincidence...in my opinion anyway.
I guess the only reasonable explanation, if the Floyd didn't plan it, is that the stars aligned and the universe just gave us something really cool which, in my opinion, does tend to happen from time to time.
Anyway, that's my take on the whole thing...now go try it!
